USTA South Carolina
Company Overview
USTA South Carolina is a state branch of the U.S. Tennis Association. We are one of 9 states in the USTA's Southern Section. We are a non-profit organization, run by a Board of Directors and various committees. We have 8 full-time, 2 part-time staff members and 3 or more interns each summer and fall. In addition, USTA Southern provides us with a full-time Tennis Service Representative exclusively for SC.
Our mission is to promote and develop the growth of tennis in South Carolina. We measure our success not only by the number of USTA members that we serve in SC but also by the number of people who participate in tennis (whether casually or in organized programs, both public and private) each year. Our job is to support local community tennis groups and affiliated organizations by: helping to start new tennis programs or expand existing ones (for any and all ages and abilities), offering suggestions and training (i.e., sharing best local program practices and features), and providing grant money to worthy groups or individuals.
Our main strategy is to work with volunteers and tennis professionals in each community to provide a complete pathway of programs in tennis for all ages and all ability levels.
